This is a cover for a postapocaliptic novel. The author wanted a scene from the book where one of the airships is destroyed by an invisible energy wall.
It was an oportunity for me to try something different.

Done in Photoshop and 3dstudio max (for basic models of the airships)

Your new style and colors are very promising. No texture splashes here either, nothing important is hidden, this piece here is more honest than for example your Conan piece (though i love the Conan cover, it kix ass!). Reminds me a bit of Christopher Moeller, in terms of colors and composition.

4 things I love on this piece: the biggest balloon, the smoke, the sea and the front propeller.
